The Technologies and Society minor provides students with a critical understanding of the broad societal impacts and ethical implications of emerging technologies, the ways in which society and technologies shape each other, and how society holds various stakeholders of technologies responsible.

The minor in Technologies and Society offers an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together academic disciplines from the College of Arts and Sciences, the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering and the Knauss School of Business. The minor is open to all undergraduate students. Regardless of their major, students pursuing this minor will improve their literacy concerning existing and emerging technologies, evaluating their benefits, drawbacks and associated ethical challenges in society.
The minor prepares students for a wide variety of careers, including in business, computer science, engineering, ethics, law, media and public policy.
