The Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) program offers students the chance to deepen their understanding of world politics while developing the necessary skills to advance their careers through a customized, flexible curriculum.

Spring 2027 Deadline

Application Requirements

What are admissions requirements?

Admissions requirements include:

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • GRE not required.
  • Official transcript showing the applicant's conferred bachelor's degree. Applicants who earned their bachelor's degree from an institution outside the United States must submit a course-by-course WES evaluation.
    • Institutions that can send secure electronic transcripts should send them to grads@sandiego.edu.
    • Official transcript(s) should show at least some academic preparation from courses in political science, history, economics and/or other subjects relevant to international affairs; students do not need to have majored in these fields as long as they have strong intellectual aptitude and demonstrated international interest.
