Food cannot be understood through a single lens — it involves nutrition, community, labor, power, language, ritual, history, engineering, biology, chemistry, environment and value. Therefore, the Food Studies minor is deeply interdisciplinary, combining methods and discoveries from many disciplines within the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.
A minor in food studies will prepare students for various careers in the food industry, community organizations, health and wellness sectors, social impact companies and policy-making.
