Senior Teaching Professor and Director, Writing Program
- PhD, University of Texas at Austin, English (Rhetoric)
Megan Dodd Little received her PhD in English with a specialization in Rhetoric from the University of Texas at Austin. She joined the English Department in 2019. She currently oversees the First Year Writing (FYW) program and supports faculty who teach advanced writing (CADW) in other departments at USD.
She has taught academic and professional writing at San Diego State University, the University of Texas at Austin, and San Francisco State University. Her scholarship has been published in Written Communication, Shakespearean Criticism, and Explorations in Renaissance Culture.
Currently, she is working on a textbook for upper division writing intensive courses in different disciplines, From Academic to Professional in an Area of Study. This textbook teaches students to read advanced texts rhetorically in order to learn more about their disciplines, focusing primarily on the introductions to scholarly research articles. She is also curating an online archive of teaching case studies that help students apply theories of discourse and genre to investigate the complex contexts of workplace and technical writing.
