Cropper Center for Creative Writing
Housed in Founders Hall, the Lindsay J. Cropper Center for Creative Writing was established at USD in 2004 in memory of Lindsay J. Cropper, an alumna of USD, an English major and aspiring writer, who died tragically in 2000. The purpose of the center is to foster the appreciation and practice of creative writing at USD by hosting an annual Writers Series, sponsoring writing workshops, promoting the development of writing courses and granting awards for creative writing.
The Writing Center
USD's Writing Center is an inclusive community serving undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines. In free, 45-minute to one-hour, one-on-one consultations, our experienced consultants provide critical reflection and constructive feedback during the multiple stages of the writing process, from planning to composing to revision. Students develop strategies for improving their writing, gaining confidence and developing educational independence.
