Charles Teplitz came to the University of San Diego in 1982 after being on the faculty of the State University of New York at Albany. In his nearly 40 years at USD, in addition to his instruction duties, he served as Director of Graduate Business Programs, Director of the Institute for Project Management, and as Department Chair of the Operations, Supply Chain and Information Management department.
He was awarded the Clarence L. Steber Endowed Professorship twice, the Faculty Service Award for the School of Business, Professor of Impact by MBA students and again by the students of the MS Supply Chain Management program, and Best Instructor by the San Diego Chapter of the Project Management Institute.
His areas of expertise included project management, cost estimating, supply chain management, and inventory management. He has published dozens of articles in professional journals and presented his research at many professional conferences in the U.S. and abroad. He also performed consulting to the U.S. government as well as many large corporations. He also served as expert witness in a number of legal cases and served on a number of editorial boards.
