Dean's Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence (Spring 2024)
The Dean’s Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence and the College (DACAIC) examined the long-term opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence and automation present for liberal arts education. The council considered potential impacts on students, teaching, academic structures, the professoriate, and the future of the College of Arts and Sciences and USD, ultimately recommending policies and actions to preserve the values of the liberal arts while responding thoughtfully to emerging technologies.

Provost-Senate Task Force (Spring 2023)
The Generative AI Working Group was charged with developing recommendations to help USD respond strategically to the opportunities and challenges posed by generative AI. Its work focused on policy, pedagogy, and resources, with particular attention to disciplinary differences, authentic learning and assessment, faculty preparedness, and the ethical, transparent, and secure use of AI.
