Torero Tips:

What tips do you have for students who are considering applying to USD?

Look for fit, not necessarily for rankings. While rankings might cause the "ooh's and ahh's" we all crave, I think it's more important that a college fits you and your personality. Why? It's important to really feel like you belong at the place you'll call home for the next four years! Looking back on my college experience, I knew I felt more like myself in smaller communities where I could be a leader amongst my peers. So, when looking for my future college, I made sure I prioritized that feeling in my search! Even in my graduate program at USD, I was so thankful for small classes where I could really get to know the students and professors around me and grow more into the person I wanted to be.

What advice do you have for applicants on answering USD's member questions?

Show us that you "know" us. We really love hearing applicants tell us why they believe Torero life is the life for them, and your USD member-question responses are the perfect place to do that! Be sure to show us know that you've done your research on USD by answering the question directly and sharing that you're ready to take next steps with us.

My Favorites:

Spot on Campus: The patio on top of USD's Hahn School of Nursing

Spot in San DiegoNorth Park. It has the best coffee houses to study in and best parks to hammock in!

Place to Eat on Campus: La Paloma (Order the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad! It's the best!)

Movie: Call Me By Your Name

Book: The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

Show to Binge-Watch: Explained on Netflix
