Torero Ambassadors

The Torero Ambassador community offers current students a place to learn, develop and grow in community while simultaneously showing radical hospitality to those who visit campus. This student group emphasizes leadership, on- and off-campus community engagement and making USD feel like home.

Torero Ambassadors is a collective of four Ambassador communities — Olé Ambassadors, DEC Ambassadors, International Ambassadors and Torero Tour Guides. Each community has a unique mission, unified by a passion for presenting USD authentically. Learn more about each community below!

Olé Ambassadors

The Purpose of Olé Ambassadors:

Olé Ambassadors are representatives of the University of San Diego’s Office of Undergraduate Admission whose purpose is to share their student experience at USD fully and authentically. They are passionate about welcoming prospective students and their families to campus and dedicated to addressing their questions about campus and student life. Our Olé Ambassadors embody USD's mission of advancing academic excellence to create a more inclusive, sustainable and hopeful world. Becoming a part of our Ambassador program is a chance to enhance your personal and professional skills, give back to your campus community, and build relationships with other Ambassadors while sharing about your own experiences as a student here at USD.

Diversity & Equity Coalition (DEC) Ambassadors

The Purpose of DEC Ambassadors:

DEC is a service organization within the Office of Undergraduate Admission, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community at the University of San Diego. Open to all students, DEC supports recruitment, outreach and retention efforts that affirm the dignity of every individual and create a culture of respect and belonging. DEC Ambassadors play a vital role in engaging with prospective students through campus tours, student panels, day programs and open houses. Through these efforts, they help ensure that all students feel valued and supported in their journey to higher education. Members also attend monthly meetings, gaining invaluable leadership and public speaking skills while representing USD in the broader community.

International Admission Ambassadors

The Purpose of International Admission Ambassadors:

As International Admission Ambassadors, our goal is to welcome students coming from abroad — both students who are international citizens and U.S. citizens who are living abroad. We introduce international students to the Torero community by working with the Office of Undergraduate Admission to recruit international students through virtual and in-person meetings, sharing our experience as Toreros coming from abroad and also working with the Office of International Students & Scholars to complement their efforts and build up our international community.

Torero Tour Guides (TTG)

The Purpose of Torero Tour Guides:

Being a Torero Tour Guide means we are committed to providing the highest quality of service and engagement to USD’s visitors. We know we are representatives of the entire USD community, including past, present and future Toreros, and we embody USD’s dedication to our Catholic identity, exemplify a commitment to diversity and inclusion, strive for academic excellence, serve with compassion and work for justice. Torero Tour Guides are the most highly trained and commit the greatest amount of time to Torero Ambassadors. It is the only paid Ambassador position, and with it comes great responsibility and expectations.
