FALL HEADCOUNT ENROLLMENT BY LEVEL
USD has traditionally tracked student enrollment in three broad categories:  undergraduates, graduate students, and law students, which include both J.D. and LL.M. candidates.
On the IPEDS Fall Enrollment Survey, however, LL.M. students must be grouped with other master's degree students.  The 'nondegree' columns include students who are
enrolled in courses for credit, but not enrolled in a program that grants a formal certificate or degree awarded by USD.   Graduate students who are enrolled in teacher
credentialing programs only are included in the 'nondegree' counts.

Note:  Each semester, approximately 10-20 law students are enrolled in both law and graduate masters programs.  These students are included in both law and graduate
counts because data are obtained from separate computer systems.  This will change with the implementation of the Banner student records system in Fall 2008.
¹ FTE calculations are based on units carried by enrolled students:
15 units = 1 semester undergraduate FTE
12 units = 1 semester graduate FTE
14 units = 1 semester law FTE
