William Gangi received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He joined the faculty of the department of government and politics at St. John’s University in 1967 and has served as chairperson of the department. Currently, he holds the rank of professor. Dr. Gangi has published extensively in various academic journals and law reviews on topics such as coerced confessions, the exclusionary rule and judicial power. He also authored Saving The Constitution From The Courts. In fall 2007 his article, “One Scholar’s Journey on the Dark Side,” was published by Chapman Law Review. In 1995, he also testified before the judiciary committee of the United States Senate on proposed legislation to substitute a tort action for the exclusionary rule.
