Loan Repayment Assistance Program

The Loan Repayment Assistance Program permits recent graduates of the University of San Diego School of Law to serve under-represented and lower -income populations as public interest attorneys.  The costs of a legal education are substantial, often requiring students to incur nearly $100,000 of debt.  While repayment of these loans may be quite feasible with the large salaries of certain legal career paths, the salaries of public interest attorneys make repayment nearly impossible. Recent graduates serving the community as public interest attorneys often face monthly payments over $1,000, while only earning a little more than that amount per month.  The Loan Repayment Assistance Program enables public interest attorneys to meet their loan payments.
