The San Diego Chapter of the Young Tax Lawyers of the California State Bar Taxation Section meets each month at 7:45 a.m. in the Faculty Reading Room at the University of San Diego School of Law. All those interested, including tax students and tax attorneys, are encouraged to attend and join. Refreshments and various breakfast items are provided.

Cheryl H. Dean, the Planned Giving Counsel at The Scripps Research Institute
The Young Tax Lawyers Group is very pleased to announce that Cheryl H. Dean, the Planned Giving Counsel at The Scripps Research Institute will be speaking at our March meeting. Dean is responsible for developing customized planned gifts to benefit donors, their families, and the institution as well as the administration of all trust and estate gifts on a national level.
Prior to joining The Scripps Research Institute in 2004, Dean had served as senior director of Planned Giving at the University of San Diego for over five years. She is involved in the regional nonprofit sector, serving as the president of the San Diego Chapter of the Planned Giving Round Table, and an active member and invited speaker at the Estate Planning Council. She has also practiced in the areas of estate planning and corporate transactions. Dean earned her A.B. degree from Duke University and her J.D. degree from the University of San Diego.
Dean will be discussing the tax implications of planned giving and providing discussion on her appealing career path.

The University of San Diego School of Law is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and certifies that this activity is approved for one hour of general credit.
