The San Diego Chapter of the Young Tax Lawyers of the California State Bar Taxation Section meets each month at 7:45 a.m. in the Faculty Reading Room at the University of San Diego School of Law. All those interested, including tax students and tax attorneys, are encouraged to attend and join. Refreshments and various breakfast items are provided.

Phil Jelsma, a partner at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP
The Young Tax Lawyers Group is very pleased to announce that Phil Jelsma, a partner at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, will be speaking at our February meeting. Mr. Jelsma was on the Drafting Committee for the California LLC Act, California Revised Uniform Partnership Act, California Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act, and he is the Principal Author of SB 13 and SB 141, California LLC Clean-up Bills.
Jelsma will be discussing AB 339, the California Revised Limited Partnership Act which will be effective on January 1, 2007 and will revolutionize California Partnership law. In addition he will be discussing a legislative proposal to adopt a Statutory Trust Act in California.
Jelsma practices in corporate, limited liability company and partnership income tax planning with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Jelsma also has experience in real estate transactions, syndications, nonprofit corporations and international tax planning.

The University of San Diego School of Law is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and certifies that this activity is approved for one hour of general credit.
