The following will consist of a completed application:
- The standard APPIC application. For fastest access, this application can be downloaded from the APPIC web page, located at http://www.appic.org
- Cover letter expressing your interest in our site.
- Three letters of reference from professionals who have observed your counseling and academic performance. In order to keep the application process fair, please send only three letters. At least two of these letters should be from clinical supervisors.
- A current vita.
- Official transcripts of all graduate work.

The University of San Diego is a private, Catholic university of about 7500 students. For more information about our demographics click here. Given this information, we'd like you to respond to the following vignette as if you were an intern at our counseling center:
A student is referred by one of his professors to see a counselor at the Counseling Center. He is an 18 year old gay, first year, Latino male living on campus. He presents in your first session with symptoms of significantly increased appetite, excessive hours of sleeping, low self-esteem, and irritability.
In 500 words or less please describe how you would proceed with your assessment.
Applicants should have completed all coursework and comprehensive exams toward their doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology, including a minimum of 500 hours of intervention and assessment at the time of application.
