Upward Bound Staff
I was born in Ramona CA but raised in Fresno, CA. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, I attended UCSD where I graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology. I have been involved with TRIO programs for about 10 years. The best thing about this job is working with the students and the great staff. During my spare time I like to go jogging or relax at home and watch old movies such as Goonies. I enjoy dancing to and listening to Rock en Español. But most of all I love to play and watch soccer. In the future, I hope to stay involved with student outreach programs, as well as obtain a masters degree.
I am from San Diego CA, born on July 05. I am currently a third year student at The University of San Diego as an English and Philosophy major with a minor in Gender Studies. My hobbies are going to the beach, doing community service, postcards, soccer, tennis, reading, spoken word, movies and music. I myself am an Upward Bound Graduate from Palamar College. This will be my second year as a tutor for the USD Upward Bound program. I love being able to give back to a program that helped me so much. Encouragement, support, and a smile can go a long way!
I was born February 13 in Hayward CA, but raised in Oakland CA. This is my third year at the University of San Diego with a double mayor in Ethnic Studies and Spanish. I love to play soccer and watch the Mexican soccer league games, run, hang out with my friends, eat Asian & Mexican food, dance, go to the movies and look at the sunset. This is my third year working for the Upward Bound program; however I was part of a UB program when I was in high school. I love the Upward Bound program and all TRiO programs in general. I've learned that if you give an opportunity to a UB student they will definitely know how to take advantage of the opportunity given to them.
