Corey Johnston is the Costumer for the USD Theatre Arts undergraduate program as well as the The Old Globe/University of San Diego Master of Fine Arts in Dramatic Program. He manages the costume shop and costume storage, and also supervises any student costume designers or technicians that express an interest. Corey designs, builds, or supervises an average of 5 shows each academic year (sometimes more!) He has also worked in such local theatres as the Diversionary Theatre, Sledgehammer Theatre, North Coast Repertory, as well as the Old Globe Theatre where he was a costume technician for 5 years prior to coming to USD. Corey has a BFA in Technical Theatre from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, and an MFA in Theatre-Costume Design from Minnesota State University in Mankato, MInnesota. He teaches Costume and Make-up, Costume Design, Theatre History, Theatre and Society, and Fundamentals of Theatrical Design.
