Faculty Role in Education Abroad
"Faculty members play a central and critical role in all international education projects, on campus and off." (NAFSA 1997, p.37). To get a better understanding of the role of faculty members in education abroad, faculty may download a copy of NAFSA's publication titled "Faculty Roles" by clicking here. This article will cover the following topics:
* developing faculty support
* on-campus roles: general advocacy, program development and administration, faculty-led programs, budgets, affiliations, program evaluation, transfer credit evaluation, program recruitment and promotion, admission, logistics, pre-departure orientation, and re-entry
* overseas roles: academic director, administrative/resident director, on-site orientation, budget and money management, advising students, the role of the faculty spouse, health care coordinator, and emergency response coordinator.

International Students and Visitor Resources
The Global Center provides a list of resources for international educators interested in visiting San Diego. For those educators interested in the USD SOLES Global Center to coordinate a special visit to various schools and to learn more about the local school system, the Global Center can coordinate the visits for a reasonable fee.
