The Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. These extended hours are intended to offer families the flexibility to create a schedule that fits their individual needs. Our intent in establishing these hours is not for children to attend school from opening until closing time. 10 hours is a very long day for children to be away from home, and we strongly recommend that families leave their children at the center for no more than eight hours per day. Children respond well to established routines, so we suggest that you seek input from your child’s classroom teachers to determine the general drop off and pick up times that will work best for your child. Children enrolled for half days must be picked up by 12:30 daily.
M.F.C.D.C. is open year round, with the exception of four weeks: two in December/January, and two in July. No tuition is charged for these four weeks. The Center will observe all University holidays, and will also close for five Staff Development Days during the year, and for a half day on the date when the University holds its annual Employee Recognition Picnic. The weekly tuition fee will not be affected when the Center is closed due to University Holidays, Staff Development Days, or children’s absences due to illness or vacation.
