SOLES and the Internationally-Renowned John Tracy Clinic Partner to Prepare Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The School of Leadership and Education Sciences and the internationally renowned Los Angeles-based John Tracy Clinic formalized their partnership to prepare teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in August, 2005.  The program confers a Master's Degree in Special Education, and, upon completion of additional requirements, a California Credential as an Education Specialist with English Learner authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  The John Tracy Clinic is a world-renowned center for parents and their young children with a hearing loss.  The Teacher Education Program reflects the mission of the Clinic in providing candidates with specific skills in building collaborative partnerships with parents and their young children from birth through age 5.  For more information about the partnership and the teacher preparation program, please visit: www.jtc.org/teachered or contact Ms. Mary McGinnis, Director, Teacher Education, at mmcginnis@jtc.org.
