  • Theresa (Terri) Monroe, Ph.D., teaches the core course on Leadership Theory and Practice and Leadership for Change for doctoral and masters students at the School of Leadership and Education Sciences as well as courses on organizational consulting, policymaking, and human relations. As the former associate director of the Leadership Education Project and lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, Monroe collaborated with Ronald Heifetz and Marty Linsky in developing and refining many of the concepts that inform Leadership Without Easy Answers (Harvard Press, 1994) and Leadership on the Line (Harvard Business School, 2002) as well as fleshing out an experiential pedagogy designed to help students internalize and make use of the theory. Monroe is also trained as a theologian and canon lawyer, and has taught courses in these subject areas at numerous colleges and universities including the Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Seattle University, St. John's University, Catholic Theological Union. She is presently an affiliated faculty member at the Irish Management Institute in Dublin, and consults to numerous national and international companies and organizations. She is a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ), an international Catholic religious order committed to the spiritual practice of contemplation-in-action, and oriented to the mission of education.
