This introductory seminar is designed to introduce students to the questions and debates that propel art history and the methodologies that have shaped its unfolding shifts in strategy. While topics will vary from year to year, the central focus of the course will be constant: to equip students to look purposefully, critically, and contextually at images, mindful of the ways that meaning is produced and perceived. In Summer 2013, this course will focus on the themes of perspective, point-of-view, and constructed "ways of seeing" fro Alberti to Microsoft Windows. Note: Course will be canceled if there are fewer than six (6) paid students enrolled as of Monday, May 20. Limit 20
