New Freshmen Housing

CAMINO/FOUNDERS HALL Camino Hall
Camino Hall and Founders Hall are two separate buildings, connected by a bridge, that include residence rooms in addition to classrooms and administrative offices. The majority of the two-hundred and eighty residents are freshmen. Camino Hall is for male residents, and Founders Hall is for female residents. Residents are assigned to double, triple and quadruple rooms. The residence rooms are located on the second floors of both buildings. A Community Director, eight Resident Assistants, and a Resident Minister reside in the halls.

These residences were originally built as the San Diego College of Women. Their unique design offers most of the residence rooms views of beautifully landscaped courtyards. Each resident is provided a twin bed, chest of drawers, desk and desk chair and most of the rooms have parquet flooring. Rooms have wireless internet access and cable television access. Showers, restrooms and "johnny squares" (assigned sinks) are located on each hall. Laundry rooms and vending machines are also provided.
Founders Hall

Camino/Founders is conveniently located near classrooms, the library, chapel and theater. A lounge with cable TV and computers is located in each hall. The University Alcohol Policy designates Camino/Founders as a no alcohol living area regardless of age or class status.

Camino/Founders Desk Services
The Camino/Founders Desk is the home of the RA office. Office hours will vary and will be posted on the front door. The front desk staff encodes room key cards, takes messages, gives information, provides vacuums and other sundries for residents. If you need to mail any items, outgoing mail is picked up twice a day Monday through Friday.  You can reach the Desk at extension 5715.

Camino/Founders Laundry Facilities
The Laundry Facilities include15 washing machines and 16 dryers. The cost for a load of laundry in the washer is $1.25 and dryers are $.50. You need to purchase a laundry card for $2.00 and you can replenish your money on the card in $5, $10, and $20. Increments. The laundry card machine does not take $1.00 bills.

Camino/Founders RA Office
The Resident Assistant Office is where you can find Resident Assistants working on programming efforts and performing their on-duty hours. During the day, the Senior Resident Assistant, has office hours where they can meet with students and discuss concerns and ideas for the housing area.  (The Senior Resident Assistant's Office Hours are Posted per semester). RA duty hours are from 7 PM - 7 AM. Contact the RA Office by dialing extension 5715 .

Camino/Founders Community Director Office
The Camino/Founders Community Director's Office is where you can meet with the Community Director to discuss questions, concerns, ideas, or problems. You may reach the Camino/Founders Community Director by dialing extension 5709 . Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself at anytime. The office location is F293st.

Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Residential Life Offices
The Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Residential Life offices are located in the Office of Residential Life in the Mission Crossroads Building. They can be reached at extension 4777.



Maher HallMAHER HALL
The Maher Hall residence hall area is located on the top three floors of the five story building that was originally St. Francis Seminary. Maher is coed by wing. The majority of residents are freshmen. Most of the rooms are triples or quads, and a very limited number of double rooms are also available. A Community Director, eight Resident Assistants, and a Resident Minister reside in this area. The lower floors contain classrooms and administrative offices. All rooms have wall-to-wall carpeting. Each residence room has its own bathroom including toilet, sink, and shower. These bathrooms must be cleaned by the residents. Each resident is provided with a extra long (80") twin bed, chest of drawers, desk and desk chair. In addition, each room has wireless internet, a telephone, and cable television access. Most residence rooms are entered from the outside balconies and some rooms have splendid views of Mission Bay, Tecolote Canyon, or the fountain in front of Maher.. Vending machines and laundry areas are also provided. This residence area is centrally located near classrooms, the library, bookstore, the mail center, Aromas and the Hahn University Center. A TV lounge and a study lounge are both located on the fifth floor. The University Alcohol Policy designates Maher Hall as a no alcohol living area regardless of age or class status.

Maher Desk Services
The Maher Desk is the home of the RA office located in MH 306W. Office hours vary and will be posted on the front door. .The front desk staff encodes room key cards, takes messages, gives information, provides vacuums and other sundries for residents. Maher Lounge
Couches for relaxing located on bottom floor west side of Maher. Hours of operation: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-midnight Friday-7am-4pm Saturday-Closed Sunday-5pm-Midnight

Maher Group Study Lounge
The Study Lounge is located on the 5th floor. You will find approximately a dozen individual desks and chairs in the lounge.

Maher Rec. Room
The recreational lounge is located on the 5th floor. Relax and watch a movie on the leather couches. Grab your pool cue for a game on the pool table found in the lounge. There is a VCR/DVD for viewing the latest release.

Maher Community Director Office
The Community Director's Office is where you can meet with the Community Director to discuss questions, concerns, ideas, or problems.. Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself at anytime. The office number is Extension 3105.

MISSION HOUSING COMPLEX (coed)
The Mission Housing Complex, commonly called "Valley Housing", consists of both Missions A and Missions B housing areas plus the San Antonio de Padua Apartments. This residential area is a short walk or tram ride from the main campus. The Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Residential Life offices are located in the Office of Residential Life located in the Mission Crossroads Building.

Missions AMISSIONS A (coed) - Freshman
The Missions A complex offers suite-style living, providing campus housing for over 250 residents, and is coed by floor. There are twelve, three-story buildings with each floor housing eight residents in single or double rooms. The suites are fully carpeted and have a furnished living room area. There are two bathrooms with showers, toilets and sinks in each suite. These bathrooms must be cleaned by the residents. Each resident has an extra-long (80") twin bed, chest of drawers, and desk with chair. Each room has wireless internet, and cable television access. These units are located along the edge of Tecolote Canyon and some have views of Mission Bay. A Community Director and nine Resident Assistants reside in Missions A. The University Alcohol Policy designates Missions A as a no alcohol living area regardless of age or class status.

Missions BMISSIONS B (coed) - Freshman
The Missions B complex is a designated freshmen area. The Missions B complex is coed by floor and consists of four, three-story buildings designed in a Spanish style with arches, white stucco walls and red tiled rooftops. A Community Director, twelve Resident Assistants, and a Resident Minister reside in this complex, with over 350 residents. Each floor houses approximately 30 residents in fully carpeted single or double rooms and provides two furnished lounge areas. University-provided televisions are located in one of the two lounges on every floor. Each resident has a bunkable extra-long bed [80 in.], chest of drawers, desk and chair. There are two bathroom areas on each floor with toilets, sinks and showers. The third floor rooms have window seats and the four buildings surround a grassy quadrangle. The University Alcohol Policy designates Missions B as a no alcohol living area regardless of age or class status.

San Antonio de 
Padua SAN ANTONIO
DE PADUA
(coed) - Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
The San Antonio de Padua Apartments offer 41 units consisting of studios and one-bedroom apartments. A laundry room, study lounge and recreation room are located on the ground level below the three floors of apartments. Each unit is entered from an interior hallway and each west facing unit has a balcony. A swimming pool is located at the south end of the building. In addition to the Community Director residing in Missions A, three Resident Assistants, two Resident Faculty, and one Resident Minister staff will reside in San Antonio de Padua. The third floor is for upperclass residents (two residents in a studio or large one bedroom). The first floor is reserved for the freshmen Residential Learning Community, Thinking Globally: Service, Faith and Justice. The second floor reserved for freshmen members of the Honors Program. Freshmen will live in triple and quadruple occupancy rooms in these apartments.

Missons Cafe and Fitness Center
New to the area , this state-of-the-art 8,515 square foot, wellness-focused facility is located in the heart of Missions housing. Designed to strengthen the minds, bodies and spirits of students, the fitness center features a yoga/pilates exercise rooom, cardio equipmen, strength training and more. The Missions Cafe is a full-service coffee/juice bar and sandwich shop featuring an assortment of healthy food choice and late night snack options including fresh organic foods such as sandwiches, salads, plus frozen yogurt.

Missions Housing Desk Services
The Mission Crossroads Desk is the center of activity for the Mission Housing area. The front desk staff encodes room key cards, takes messages, gives information, provides vacuums and other sundries for residents. If you need to mail any items, outgoing mail is picked up twice a day Monday through Friday.  You can also check out foosball items to use in the Bahia Lounge.   You can reach the Crossroads Front Desk at extension 4625.

The Community Director" Offices are where you can meet with the Community Director to discuss questions, concerns, ideas, or problems.. Appointments may be scheduled on the office door of each Community Director.
