The Office of University Communications produces the University of San Diego’s flagship publications.
These high-quality print pieces are meant to promote the university to all campus constituencies —including alumni, parents and friends — as well as to assist in community outreach. The department has a mandate to advance the core values of the institution while maintaining the highest journalistic standards.
Key publications and services include:
- USD Magazine, distributed three times a year to alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff.
- The Fact Book, an at-a-glance view of USD published annually.
- The President's Report, an annual state-of-the-university report.
- Other projects as needed, including providing strategic editorial planning and art direction services to advance the university’s profile and development goals.
We welcome story ideas. These come from many sources, including alumni, administration, faculty, students and staff. The lead-time of the magazine is such that six months is not an unusual amount of time between when a story is first discussed and its publication.
Story ideas can be submitted to the magazine’s editor, Julene Snyder, at julene@sandiego.edu or call (619) 260-4684.
