The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies Graduate Programs

Do you want to be an effective agent of peace and social justice? Our graduate programs are designed to prepare students for solving today's most vexing issues. With this in mind, we offer an integrated curriculum that explicitly combines social justice, poverty alleviation and conflict resolution. Through a distinctive learning experience, students will expand their vision and imagination of what is possible to build a better world and gain expertise to translate ideas into action.

Since students come from diverse backgrounds and have different levels of experiences, we offer two master's degree programs.  Students with five or more years of experience are encouraged to apply to the Master of Arts in Peacebuilding.  Students without this experience should apply to the Master of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies program, which includes a required internship.

Program Length

The Master of Arts in Peacebuilding is a 1-year program.  The Master of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies is a 2-year program.  Both programs are full-time.

The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies graduate programs are designed to prepare you for solving today's most complex issues of poverty, escalating conflict and violence, social injustice and human rights.  Those completing our programs will emerge with a changemaker's way of thinking, knowing, being and interacting.
