Environmental Conflict Resolution Conference

A working conference bringing global insights to controversies related to water justice and hydro-diplomacy in San Diego –Tijuana border region.

We will:   
  • Learn about hydro-diplomacy and trans-border water management approaches from around the world;
  • Apply new knowledge in thinking about water security and regional trans-border environmental cooperation between San Diego-Tijuana in face-to-face discussions and deliberation;
  • Network and collaborate with the binational community of governmental, civic, tribal, and private-sector people dedicated to binational water management;
  • Acquire skills for improved conflict management and resolution.

Conferencia sobre Resolución de conflictos ambientales

Dirigida a aportar ideas para las controversias relacionadas con la justicia en material de agua e “hidro-diplomacia” en la región fronteriza San Diego-Tijuana.

Además:
  • Aprenderemos sobre “hidro-diplomacia” y avances en gestión transfronteriza de aguas al rededor del mundo;
  • Aplicaremos los nuevos conocimientos en la reflexión sobre la seguridad del agua y cooperación transfronteriza regional entre San Diego y Tijuana en discusiones y deliberaciones vis-á-vis;
  • Haremos relaciones y colaboraremos con la comunidad binacional de personas del sector gubernamental, civil, autóctono, y privado, dedicadas a la gestión binacional del agua;
  • Adquiriremos habilidades para mejorar la gestión y solución de conflictos

Panel Sessions and Workshops

Panel sessions will discuss global water security; linkages between national and environmental security; conflict resolution over transborder water issues; and the importance of a broad collaborative approach for sustainable transboundary water management. Each panel is followed by interactive working sessions that enhance conflict analysis and conflict resolution skills, build consensus around priorities, and work towards securing political support and funding for future work.
