Melissa Lucas is the Event Assistant at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice at the University of San Diego, working primarily on the Distinguished Lecture Series and Daylight Series.

Prior to the IPJ, she worked as the meeting and event coordinator at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, Calif.

Lucas, a native of Minnesota, has a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in Communication Studies from USD. During her undergraduate years, she lived in Spain for one year, traveled throughout Europe and Latin America and went on a service trip to Thailand with the Center for Community Service-Learning at USD.
