Faculty

USD Paralegal Program faculty are committed to the training and use of paralegals. Faculty have experience practicing in the field in which they teach and are carefully selected by the administration based on educational background, excellent teaching skills, legal experience and a dedication to the goals of the program and the paralegal profession. Faculty are regularly evaluated by the students and administrators. Student surveys rank faculty as one of the greatest strengths of the program. GARY BORQUEZ, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law 1993; Currently an instructor at University of California, Irvine.

PATRICIA BRENNAN, LLB., Trinity College Dublin School of Law, 1991; Admitted to California State Bar, 1999. Currently Corporate Counsel for the Continuous Computing Corporation.

ROBERT DeKOVEN, J.D., California Western School of Law, 1983; Admitted to California State Bar, 1984.  Currently a Legal Research Professor at California Western School of Law.

DEBORAH DITTER, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law 1996; Admitted to the California State Bar 1996. Currently a sole practitioner specializing in complex child custody and dissolution proceedings.

SAHYEH FATTAHI, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law, Admitted to the State Bar of California, 2002. Currently an attorney at Procopio Cory Hargreaves and Savitch LLP.

WILLIAM HOLMAN, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law , Admitted to the State Bar of California 1970.  Currently in private practice with an emphasis in appellate matters.

JANE HOPPER, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law, 1987. Litigation attorney previously with Gibbs, Eppsteiner & Stagg, Law Offices of Edward Lanigar, and Law Offices of William Chopak.

KAREN HORN, J.D., California Western School of Law, 1988; Admitted to the California State Bar, 1988. Currently a sole practitioner specializing in family law.

BETTY HOWARD, B.A., George Fox University; completed University of San Diego Paralegal Program, 1991. Employed at the Law Offices of Golper & Sullivan as an office manager and litigation paralegal.

CORY KING, J.D., University of San Diego; Admitted to the State Bar of California, 1995. Currently is a partner at Fine, Boggs and Perkins LLP.

DAVID LAMB, JD: University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, 1998. Admitted to the California State Bar, 1998. Currently Deputy Public Defender, San Diego Public Defender’s Office.

MEREDITH LEWIS, J.D., California Western School of Law 2003; Admitted to the State Bar of California 2003. Currently with the Law Offices of Lugar and Pohl as an associate.

AGUSTINE LOPEZ, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law 2001; Admitted to the State Bar of California, 2002. Currently Director of the Administrative Hearing Program with the University of San Diego School of Law and a partner at Lopez & Mardian.

ROBERT MADRUGA, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law, 1965. Admitted to the California State Bar, 1966. Currently Deputy District Attorney, Real Estate Fraud Unit. Program Director, County of San Diego.

JOHN MADSEN, J.D., Thomas Jefferson School of Law, 1995; Admitted to the State Bar of California , 1996. Currently with Liebman Quigley Sheppard & Soulema.

ROBERT MARDIAN, J.D.,  University of San Diego School of Law 2002; Admitted to the State Bar of California, 2003. Currently an Administrative Hearing Officer with the University of San Diego School of Law and a partner at Lopez & Mardian.

CHAD MCMANAMY, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law, 2002; Admitted to the State Bar of California, 2003. Currently with the Mogin Law Firm specializing in antitrust and consumer protection complex litigation.

KIM MINDEN, B.A., National University. Training coordinator and software support previously with Latham and Watkins.

AMANDA MINEER, J.D., University of San Diego School of Law, Admitted to the State Bar of California, 2004. Currently in private practice.

EMILY LYNCH MORISSETTE, J.D., California Western School of Law, 1999; Admitted to California State Bar 2001. Currently in private practice.

JULIET OBERDING, J.D., University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law 1988; Admitted to the State Bar of California, 1989. Currently in private practice specializing in general business, entertainment law and intellectual property.

CHRISTOPHER OBERLE, J.D., University of California Hastings College of Law, 1977; Admitted to California State Bar, 1977. Currently a sole practitioner emphasizing business and real estate transactions, estate planning and probate.
