Spring Break: Bryce and Zion National Park

Zion Group
Join us for a Spring Break Service Trip and Adventure in Utah!

Outdoor Adventures will be traveling to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks in Utah from March 23-30, 2013. This trip will involve hiking/exploring national parks and some trail and vegetation service work in Zion National Park.

Travel with us for eight days of adventure in Utah. We will spend four days exploring some of the many sights of Zion and Bryce Canyon from the depths of the Virgin Canyon Narrows to the dizzying heights of Angel's Landing. Two of the days will be spent giving back to Zion by doing vegetation and trail work. We will explore the beauty of Utah and some of the issues facing our National Parks today. Come join us to go beyond exploration and create a deeper connection with nature.

We will meet in OA on Saturday, March 23rd and depart by 9am. The day will be spent driving to Zion, where we will camp the night. Sunday we will wake up early to hike one of Zion's most famous rock formations Angel's Landing. Monday and Tuesday we will spend in Bryce Canyon exploring various sites. Tuesday night we will head back to Zion, where we will stay the next four nights. Wednesday and Thursday we will be doing volunteer work in Zion, including vegetation work and trail building. Friday we will hike the narrows in Zion. Saturday we will leave and drive back to USD.

Guides, transportation, food (except for meals on the road and one dinner in town) camping gear, dry pants and shoe rentals for hiking the narrows, camping fees, environmental fees and entrance fees.

Meals will be provided from breakfast on Sunday to breakfast on Saturday, as well as snacks throughout the trip. There will also be an option to go out to dinner on Tuesday night in Springdale, UT, which is not included in the price.

We will be camping in 2-or 4- person tents. The campsites will have toilet but no shower facilities.

You must have shoes you would be able to hike up to 10 miles. Flip flops are not permitted. Bilsters are common and proper footwear is key in preventing them.

You will receive a detailed packing list during the pre-trip meeting, and we will review it for any questions you may have. The pre-trip meeting dates and times are TBA.
