After arriving in San Jose we will stretch our legs before traveling the new coastal highway through such tourist hotspots as Jaco, Manuel Antonio and Dominical. Once we arrive at our final destination of Bahia Ballena-Uvita we will enjoy a some time to relax and recover from our travels. This evening we will enjoy our first typical Costa Rican dish while we get to know the Bodhi Surf team and discuss our agenda for the week. |

Depart from Punta Uvita in the morning for a full-day boat tour. Our first stop is Cano Island Biological Reserve, one of Costa Rica's best snorkeling destinations. Explore gorgeous coral reefs and blue waters with turtles, rays and multiple species of fish. Next we are off to Corcovado National Park, famous for holding 3% of the biodiversity on this side of the planet. Hike lush primary rainforests as we look for monkeys, sloths, tucans and even the more elusive puma or tapir. |

![]() Today we will embark on a canopy tour through primary and secondary rainforest with ocean views. After an adrenaline rush to start our day, the afternooon is free to choose your adventure. Relax at the hotel, read a book, hang out at the beach, hike local trails, rest in a hammock, surf, kayak, horseback ride, fish, snorkel etc. We will examine the options and make a group decision on our activities at a pre-trip meeting. |

Enjoy our final day at the jungle-lined beaches of the South Pacific. Continue to polish your surfing skills and show off your improved wave riding skills. We will take some time to reflect on our experiences and commit to an action plan to be the change we want to see in the world. We will leave Costa Rica with a deep connection to nature, a developed environmental conscousness and an increased knowledge about sustainable development. We’ll spend our last night in Costa Rica reminiscing and celebrating our epic adventure before heading to the airport in the morning for our return to San Diego. |

We will participate in one of the communities current projects that may involve GPS-GIS projects, working a bio garden, medicinal garden, trail building, bi-lingual sign making, etc. We will have the afternoon to continue practicing and polishing our new surfing skills a we get back on our boards in search of the perfect wave.
