I have a BSN, MSN (major: nursing administration; minor: child and adolescent psychiatric nursing) and a Ph.D. in nursing (cognate: management). I have held a variety of nursing roles in the past with a clinical emphasis on psychiatric and mental health nursing. Currently, I am Assistant Professor at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, where my primary responsibility is related to the RN to BSN Sequence (I facilitate the Sequence and teach related courses). I have worked within Dr. King's framework since 1986 and consider her a wonderful mentor and teacher. I have developed a middle range theory - Theory of Group Power, within her framework, and a related instrument - Sieloff-King Assessment of Group Power within Organizations (SKAGPO). My area of expertise in relation to King's work would, thus, be in terms of middle range theory and instrument development. I am also one of the Founders and current President of the King International Nursing Group whose mission is to improve nursing care and contribute to the science of nursing through advancement of King's Interacting Systems Framework and related theories. |
