PAT LYON, R.N., B.Sc.N., M.Sc.

Pat is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Professional Practice Leader for Nursing at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. She is an Associate in Nursing, University of Toronto, a Clinical Tutor, McMaster University, and a Clinical Associate, Hospital for Sick Children

Pat graduated from St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Peterborough. She received her Baccalaureate at Ryerson and her Masters Degree in nursing at University of Toronto.

Pat's practice is guided by Parse's human becoming theory. She teaches the theory to Canadian and International nurses and students. Her research interest is Quality of Life issues. She participated in a multi-site collaborative project on "The Lived Experience of Waiting". Other projects Pat has worked on include, co-directing the teaching video, The Human Becoming Theory: Living True Presence in Nursing Practice and co-editing The human becoming theory: A manual for the teaching-learning process.

Pat is one of the founding members of the International Consortium of Parse Scholars and has been the Secretary/Treasurer for a number of years.
