Lead@USD
(Formerly the Educational Opportunity Program)
Lead@USD provides mentoring, personalized support, and leadership development for first generation, historically underrepresented and/or low income students. In their freshman year, up to forty students enter the program as a cohort that remains connected over the next four years. Within the cohort, students build bonds that lead to lasting relationships.
Community is an important aspect of Lead@USD. Students in Lead become a part of a community of students, faculty, and staff committed to success. Lead staff members assist program participants in adjusting to college and meeting academic and life goals. In addition to academic support, the program provides mentors and leadership development.
