Professor Maimon SchwarzschildProfessor Schwarzschild was an accredited journalist at the United Nations for five years, had White House press credentials during the Nixon administration, and served in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., during the Carter administration. He also practiced law as a barrister in London and with the Chadbourne law firm in New York. Schwarzschild was a visiting professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Sorbonne in Paris. He joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1982 where he teaches and writes in the areas of comparative law, constitutional law, public international law, civil procedure, criminal procedure and evidence.

Professor Thomas SmithProfessor Smith clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He taught law at the University of Colorado and the University of California, Davis before accepting a position as senior counsel and economist on President Reagan's Council of Economic Advisors. He also practiced with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. Professor Smith joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1992 where he teaches and writes in the areas of constitutional law, corporate and business law and intellectual property law. |

Professor-in-Residence Michael DevittProfessor Devitt was the managing partner of his former law firm where he practiced complex civil litigation in various jurisdictions around the United States. He joined the USD School of Law faculty as a professor-in-residence in 1999 and teaches in the areas of evidence, appeals advocacy, securities accounting, professional responsibility as well as military justice and national security. |
