Steve Smith, executive director Warren Distinguished Professor of Law Professor Smith taught at the University of Notre Dame Law School, the University of Colorado School of Law and the University of Idaho. He was a visiting professor at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia. Larry Alexander, executive director Warren Distinguished Professor of Law Professor Alexander joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1970. He was a visiting professor at the University of California, San Diego, the University of Pennsylvania Law School, the University of Texas School of Law and Hebrew University Faculty of Law. Professor Maimon Schwarzschild Professor Schwarzschild was an accredited journalist at the United Nations for five years, had White House press credentials during the Nixon administration, and served in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., during the Carter administration. He also practiced law as a barrister in London and with the Chadbourne law firm in New York. Schwarzschild was a visiting professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Sorbonne in Paris. He joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1982 where he teaches and writes in the areas of comparative law, constitutional law, public international law, civil procedure, criminal procedure and evidence. Professor Thomas Smith Professor Smith clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He taught law at the University of Colorado and the University of California, Davis before accepting a position as senior counsel and economist on President Reagan's Council of Economic Advisors. He also practiced with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. Professor-in-Residence Michael Devitt Professor Devitt was the managing partner of his former law firm where he practiced complex civil litigation in various jurisdictions around the United States.
