Professor Sullivan teaches in the area of energy law and policy.
Professional Experience
Sullivan was employed as a staff attorney for a trade association, representing its members before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for the first six years of his legal career. He then worked 24 years as in-house counsel at Sempra Energy and its predecessors representing its utility subsidiaries (SoCalGas and SDG&E) in matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the CPUC. He retired in 2006.
