Visual Communicator

What is Adobe Visual Communicator?

visualIt is a quick and easy one-stop shop video recording solution, complete with teleprompter, video recording capabilities and an entire library of customizable graphics, effects, titles, music, and templates. After a short 20 minute training, faculty and staff can reserve a video editing room complete with green screen, camera, and wireless microphone to create lectures, presentations or supplemental materials for viewers located anywhere there is an Internet connection. A wide variety of media can be imported including video, audio, PowerPoint slides, and still images all seamlessly blended into a professional presentation replete with picture-in-picture, voiceover, and music.  The final output can range from high quality DVD production to a video that streams from USD's streaming server.

Why do I want it?

Among other things, Adobe visual communicator allows you to:

  • Share video presentations via the web when you can't deliver a presentation in person.
  • Produce supplemental materials that are engaging and tailored to the material being covered in class.
  • Add your script into a Teleprompter, so you get it right the first time.
  • Convert an entire PowerPoint show into a narrated video.
  • Reserve a video production room which includes a green screen and allows you to replace the Background with any image, graphic or video clip.
  • Choose from an entire library of newscast style graphics, effects, titles and music clips.
  • Record once, distribute in many formats: DVD, and streaming media.
