New Hire Migration Process

  1. Before your first week, the AD paperwork is given to your Department's administration.
  2. Upon your arrival to USD, you will be asked to complete the paperwork and then fax it, or send it via Campus mail, to Network and Telecom Services (as per the instructions in the form).
  3. A Technician will create a temporary local login for you on your computer so that you have access to the Internet and Microsoft Office.
  4. Once you get your MySanDiego account information, the technician will help you log in so that the Mirapoint and LDAP accounts can be automatically created.
  5. The technician will ask you to only use Webmail Access until your AD account have been created.
  6. When you receive an e-mail confirmation that your AD account has been completed, the technician will contact the e-mail administrators to create an Exchange mailbox and coordinate a migration with you.
  7. When a date and time has been set, the Transporter Tool is run and the switch to Exchange is made.
  8. After the switch, the technician will delete your temporary local login and migrate you to AD.
  9. The technician will then get Outlook/Entourage set up for your use and answer any questions that you may have about AD and Exchange.
  10. Welcome to Microsoft Exchange 2007! If you have any computer issues or questions, please call the Help Desk at extension 7900.
