Interested in appearing in a television commercial scheduled to air during the London Summer Olympics this July? Are you a University of San Diego student, faculty or staff member or part of our 50,000 and growing alumni base?
On Monday, June 4, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., USD will conduct a free, open casting call in Hahn University Center’s Forum B. All casting call participants must also be available for filming, in San Diego, the week of June 18. This Changemaker ad, the institution’s latest commercial, is expected to air during the Olympics and have a shelf life of up to two years.
Individuals interested in participating in the commercial casting call are asked to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org . Please put “RSVP Casting Call” on the email’s subject line.
According to Coreen Petti, Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, the casting call seeks individuals of all ages and all types of people who make up the USD community. Acting experience is not necessary, but all participants are asked to refrain from wearing white or any loud prints, patterns or colors, as those types of garments tend to reduce the quality of the images sought for the commercial.
Participants at the casting call will be asked to stand before a camera and answer a few casual questions and, perhaps, be asked to repeat a line or two of dialogue. The on-camera process is expected to take two minutes or less. Wait times will depend on the volume of people who show up at a given time during open casting. With sensitivity to time constraints, every effort will be made to move people through as quickly as possible.
As stated above, the actual commercial will be shot the week of June 18 and exact dates and times for individual participation will be determined the week before to help individuals make any scheduling accommodations.
