Zachary Green

Zachary Green, Ph.D., BCC
Program Director and Lead Faculty, USD Executive Leadership Coaching and Visiting Professor, Department of Leadership Studies

Dr. Green brings more than ten years of experience as an executive coach to his role with the USD Executive Leadership Coaching Program.  He has taught courses on coaching, organizational theory, group behavior, negotiations, and adult development at the graduate level at the University of Maryland and University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Green is a senior member of the coaching cohort for the World Bank Executive Program and has coached scores of professionals nationally and internationally in corporate, government, religious, academic, health care, and non-profit settings. Dr. Green holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Boston University and trained at Cambridge Hospital/Harvard Medical School.  His clients have included Royal Dutch Shell, the IMF, and So Others Might Eat.

George Reed

George Reed, Ph.D., BCC
Senior Scholar and Program Lead, USD Executive Leadership Coaching; Associate Professor, Department of Leadership Studies; Associate Dean, School of Leadership and Education Sciences

Dr. Reed is a nationally recognized leadership scholar.  Author of numerous articles in the field, he is also a regular columnist for the Washington Post on issues of the day in leadership.  As a practitioner, Dr. Reed brings his experiences coaching leaders in the military, federal agencies, and the financial sector to the classroom.  Certified on a variety of assessment instruments, he uses these tools in his own coaching and consultation practice. Dr. Reed also routinely offers intensive seminars on leadership assessment, mediation, appreciative inquiry, and other methodologies in partnership with recognized organizations like the Center for Creative Leadership.   As an academic he is the senior USD professor for courses on organizational behavior at the doctoral level.  Finally, Dr. Reed is regularly a featured keynote speaker at conferences all across the country.

Theresa Monroe

Theresa Monroe, Ed.D.
Associate Professor, USD Department of Leadership Studies.

Dr. Monroe teaches the core course on Leadership Theory and Practice and Leadership for Change for doctoral and masters students at the School of Leadership and Education Sciences as well as courses on organizational consulting, policymaking, and human relations. As the former associate director of the Leadership Education Project and lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, Dr. Monroe collaborated with Ronald Heifetz and Marty Linsky in developing and refining many of the concepts that inform Leadership Without Easy Answers (Harvard Press, 1994) and Leadership on the Line (Harvard Business School, 2002) as well as fleshing out an experiential pedagogy designed to help students internalize and make use of the theory.

Cheryl Getz

Cheryl Getz, Ed.D.

Cheryl Getz, Ed.D., is Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership Studies. Her research interests include 1) using action research methodology to enhance the teaching of leadership; 2) the exploration of college student social identity; 3) the application of group relations theory to higher education administration and student affairs; 4) the development of inclusive and integrated leadership development; and 5) strengthening cultural competence through international travel and exchanges. She has held a variety of administration positions in SOLES, including Associate Dean, Director of Graduate and Credential Programs, and Assistant Dean. She teaches courses for master's and doctoral students in the Higher Education Leadership Program, while teaching an undergraduate course in the leadership minor. She supervises Student Affairs graduate interns and teaches the accompanying seminar.

Dr. Nooravi has two decades of experience in organizational development, change management and leadership development. She currently focuses on helping the CEOs of small to mid-sized companies create the culture they always dreamed of by coaching their leaders, building and educating their teams and restructuring their people-side processes around talent and accountability. Dr Nooravi is an adjunct faculty member of the Center for Creative Leadership, UCSD and the University of San Diego. Sherry holds a Doctorate of psychology degree in Organization Development from the California School of Professional Psychology, a Master's degree in Communication from Pepperdine University and Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Psychology from California State University, Northridge.

Rene Molenkamp

René Molenkamp, Ph.D., BCC,

René John Molenkamp is a reflective leadership practitioner. He comes to this role through the intensive, experiential leadership development programs he designs and delivers primarily to international professionals from globally recognized organizations. In Europe, Dr. Molenkamp is executive coach and consultant for the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland for more than a decade. He has directed outdoor education experiences, coordinated elements of the MBA program, and serves as core faculty for Mobilizing People, a leadership program for high potential international corporate executives. René is also in regular rotation doing parallel work at INSEAD in France. In the United States, he is on the graduate faculty at the University of San Diego. There he teaches core professional practice courses for the Department of Leadership Studies and supervises beginning counselors for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

Maria Trias

Maria Trias is a Graduate Assistant with the Center for Community Service-Learning at the University of San Diego (USD), where she supports student leadership development through course-based service-learning. Maria is a native Spanish speaker and moved from Barcelona to San Diego in 2010. In Barcelona, she was committed to promoting social inclusion and social justice by engaging professionally in a nonprofit called Casal dels Infants, where she served as a Communication and Social Diffusion Department Managerfor 5 years. Maria has a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and a Master’s in Communication from the University Pompeu Fabra in Spain. She is currently working toward her Doctoral degree in Leadership Studies at USD and was certified as an Integral Coach by New Ventures West, San Francisco in 2012. She has had experience coaching senior executives and managers in the Non-Profit, Education and Bio Tech industries and has also worked with private individuals outside of the professional environment.

Lorri Sulpizio, Ph.D.

Lorri Sulpizio has dedicated her career to advancing the science and art of leadership development through research, education, training and consulting. Lorri is a founder and the principle consultant for Lotus Leadership Institute- a leadership development company that helps both individuals and organizations to increase their leadership effectiveness and become more productive. She is a published author having written several articles and book chapters, and is an international presenter on leadership. Lorri's expertise includes girls and women's leadership, as well as group and team dynamics. Her research focus is on women's leadership, specifically on voice, power, and authority. Her current research projects are on the topics of the lived experience of motherhood, as well as women, voice and leadership.

David is a pragmatic and passionate coach and consultant in the area of personal integration, motivation, group dynamics, team performance, and executive leadership. Through executive coaching, writing, teaching, and facilitated programs, he supports middle to senior level executives develop an uncommonly rich understanding of the human dynamics operating beneath the results they see and expect. Such powerful and hidden forces are vitally important to understand and master because--like culture--they "eat strategy (and the best laid plans) for lunch."
