National Science Foundation Community College Transfer Student Scholarship @ USDThe objective of this scholarship(S-STEM) is to increase the opportunity for local community college transfer students who are talented but have financial limitations to earn a baccalaureate degree in engineering at the University of San Diego (USD). These students will be provided with a level of academic, financial, and personal support necessary to allow them to earn their B.S. degrees in three years in an academic environment committed to their needs contingent upon their maintaining academic eligibility. Although not limited, the program will target low-income, underrepresented ethnic minority (referred to as “minority”) and women engineering students. The proposed program provides 12 talented transfer students (referred to as S-STEM Scholars) scholarship support of $10,000 per year, based on financial need, to work towards degrees in engineering.
