  Dr. Judith Starr Rauner, author and founding Director of the Community Service Learning Program at the University of San Diego. Dr. Judy Rauner, a visionary community service leader and author who founded the Community Service Learning Program at the University of San Diego, died peacefully from a malignant brain tumor on March 23rd, 2009, in her San Diego home surrounded by family and her loving husband of 45 years, Dr. Thomas Rauner.
