Jonathan Bowman, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Camino Hall 126-E (619) 260-6878 bowman@sandiego.edu Spring 2008 Courses: Office Hours: Wed.: 10:00 a.m. - noon; Thurs.: 12:15 - 2:15 p.m. Dr. Jonathan M. Bowman joined USD in 2007 after three years on the faculty at Boston College. He received his B.A. from the University of California Davis and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University. His program of research investigates interpersonal and small group communication processes in a variety of contexts, with an emphasis on the revelation of unknown information ( i.e., self-disclosure in the interpersonal literature; discussion of unshared information in the small group literature). His work has been published in journals including the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Communication Research, and multiple book chapters. An award-winning teacher, Dr. Bowman is currently teaching Human Communication Theory in a seminar format, as well as a hands-on version of Communication Investigations which emphasizes the completion of a quantitative research project. |
