Beverages
Beverages are displayed buffet style and include high quality plasticware and beverage table linen. For an upgrade to glassware, that includes an attendant, add $2.00 per guest. Table linens are available for $3 per table.

Please note: there are approximately 8 cups per airpot/pitcher, and 15 cups per gallon.

Alcohol

Wine BottlesAt the client's request, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages may be served at a reception. It is the responsibility of the client to obtain all necessary alcohol permits, signatures and approvals. Food must be served at all events where alcohol is to be served.

Beer and wine may be provided by the event host or ordered through USD Banquets & Catering. If ordered through USD Banquets & Catering, the client is billed for the amount of beverages consumed at retail prices. If alcohol is provided by the client, the client is responsible for removing any unconsumed alcohol at the conclusion of the event.

A per person charge to cover the service and supply costs for a plastic wine set up will be assessed at the following rates:

  • 1 to 2 hours: $2.00 per guest / 3 hours: $2.75 per guest / 4 or more hours: $3.50 per guest
  • A glass set up may be substituted for plastic at an additional charge of $1.50 per guest.

Wine Service

Wine may be included with a catered meal. The client will be billed the retail cost for the amount of wine consumed, plus a charge of two dollars per person to cover the costs of providing this service. A client may choose to provide their own wine. In this case, the client will be assessed a charge of two dollars per person to cover the costs of handling and service.

Full-Bar Service

The University of San Diego does not hold a liquor license; therefore, Banquets and Catering cannot sell alcohol directly to attendees of an event. If you desire a full bar set up, either cash or hosted, we will contract a bar catering company that we believe upholds our standards of service. Your catering coordinator will assist you in booking this service.
