Minor Requirements

The minor in Theology and Religious Studies requires 18 units.

Students should be aware that, once you fulfill your THRS Core Curriculum Requirements (9 units), you need only three more courses (an additional 9 units) to have a THRS minor. Just make sure to include some of the required courses for the THRS minor among the courses you take to satisfy the Core requirement.*

The course requirements for the minor in Theology and Religious Studies are as follows:

Lower-Division Requirements (6 units)

116: Intro. to Biblical Studies

and one other lower-division course.

Upper-Division Requirements (12 units)

Either:

360: Jesus in Christian Tradition
or
364: The Theology of the Church

and 9 upper division elective units.

Declaration of Major/Minor Form

The THRS chair is always happy to meet and advise new minors.  However, the signature of THRS Chair is not necessary for using this form to add a minor.  Just fill out and take to One Stop.

*According to the Undergraduate Bulletin, "Courses in the minor . . . may be used to satisfy . . . core curriculum requirements."
