The University of San Diego Monthly Scholarships Available for Art and Cultural Leaders and Managers - USD-Continuing Ed Division Launches Certificate in Business for the Arts

SAN DIEGO, CA - The University of San Diego’s Division of Corporate and Professional Education Certificate in Business for the Arts will offer three scholarship opportunities each month to attend one course. The program is now accepting scholarship applications to attend the third certificate program course in Art Program and Exhibition Development. This course will be instructed by Adriana Cleves, Assistant Curator to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Friday, December 4th from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, December 5th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.


The applicant should submit a 250 word essay (Word or .PDF) describing how this course could help his/her organization or their professional career as an art administrator to better assist the needs of his/her community. The primary criterion of judgment will be the excellence of the proposal and the thoughtfulness given to its applicability to multicultural audience development, international cultural relations and bi-national program development. The Certificate in Business for the Arts aims to provide to the arts and cultural leaders a broader understanding about cross-border art and cultural relations in the USA and Mexico. As wells as, foster in a pro-active fashion the importance of international art and cultural leadership and intercultural dialogues.
