International MBA Program - Incoming Students

Academic and Program Information

Pre-Program 'To Do' List

1. Set up USD e-mail - Your USD e-mail will be our primary mode of communication and will give you access to my.sandiego.edu and the Graduate School of Business Administration Listserve (see below). After setting up your USD e-mail, please sign in to my.sandiego.edu and explore all the ways it will make your life as a USD student easier! Click on 'Open an account' and use your student ID, last 4 digits of your SSN, and date of birth to create your account. Your expected year of graduation is 2010. *Tip-You can set your USD e-mail address to forward to your primary e-mail address by signing into my.sandiego.edu, clicking on e-mail: options: Auto Forward.

2. Send us your USD e-mail address, photo and a short bio which may include information about your background, work experience, career goals, interests, languages spoken, etc. This information will be shared among your cohort and with the faculty teaching your fist semester courses. Send to your advisor at ksingleton@sandiego.edu

3. Once you send your advisor your USD e-mail, you will automatically be enrolled in the Gradsba and Gradsbajobs listserve- The Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) Listserve is the primary mode of communications for the entire GSBA. Once you are signed up to receive e-mails from the listserve, you will receive important information in many areas, including upcoming events (speakers, networking, career, social), advising, important deadlines, job/internship opportunities, and much more!

We are currently finalizing the Fall 2008 IMBA Course Calendar. In the meantime, please add these important dates to your calendar:

  • Wednesday, August 13th – IMBA Orientation
  • Thursday and Friday, August 14th and 15th – GSBA 514 and 515 courses held on campus
  • Monday, August 18 – Travel to Rosarito, Mexico with your cohort to complete 514/515
  • Tuesday, Aug. 19th – Dinner in Rosarito with the 2007 IMBA Cohort and faculty
  • Wednesday, August 20th – Return from Rosarito
  • Thursday and Friday, August 21 and 22 – Continued Orientation (career building) and workshop (statistics)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 2nd – Harbor Cruise in the evening

The normal Fall semester schedule will continue from August 25th through Dec. 19th. Please check back for the finalized calendar.

In addition to course requirements, the IMBA Program has the following non-academic requirements:
