Instructor in Management

Moriah Meyskens is an adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego in the Management Department. At USD she is an active member of the Venture Vetting (V2) Competition leadership team. She also enjoys assisting with initiatives related to social entrepreneurship like the Social Innovation Challenge (she was a judge in 2012). She recently completed post-doctoral research at Babson College where she worked with the United States Global Entrepreneurship Monitor team and continues as a visiting scholar. Her areas of interest lie in Entrepreneurship, Strategy and International Business with a particular focus on social entrepreneurship, bottom of the pyramid, corporate social responsibility, green-techs, business planning and partnership research. She has presented her work at numerous conferences including the Academy of Management, Babson, and USASBE. She has also co-organized several annual professional development workshops at AOM since 2008 on Content Analysis and Poverty Alleviation Research.

Meyskens has published two book chapters, two GEM reports, and several peer-reviewed articles in Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Small Business Economics, Journal of Enterprising Culture, and the Journal of Business Ethics. She has over eight years’ professional experience in finance and microfinance. She holds a PhD from the Department of Management & International Business at Florida International University. Her dissertation was on the role of partnerships in nascent social ventures. Meyskens completed her bachelor’s degree in Economics & Latin American Studies at UCLA and her MBA in Management & Entrepreneurship at NYU. She also speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
