Become a Mentor

The School of Business Administration Alumni (SBAA) Council exists to serve all undergraduate and graduate alumni from the School of Business Administration (SBA). It is our mission to serve the SBA's undergraduate and graduate alumni by:

  • Promoting professional development
  • Building a strong network among our alumni
  • Enhancing the reputation of the School of Business Administration
  • Enabling alumni to update their personal and business contact information on a regular basis.
  • Facilitating regional, national and international events in partnership with the University of San Diego Alumni Association.
  • Providing alumni access to the university's Career Services office and to the online Torero Network.
  • Keeping alumni up-to-date on what is happening at the business school and USD through e-newsletters

Eight Ways To Stay Connected:

1. Keep Your Contact Information Up-to-Date
Update your information by going to: http://www.sandiego.edu/business/alumni/alumni_update.php

2. Refer Outstanding Students to the SBA
Help improve the growing quality of our student application pool and strengthen our programs by recommending a potential undergraduate or graduate SBA student.

3. Hire USD's SBA Graduates
Make time to give a student an informational interview, grant a student or alumnus/a an interview for a position at your company. Or, refer our SBA graduates to your colleagues.

4. Become a Mentor
The SBA has created a mentorship program to connect students with alumni and professionals in the San Diego business community. The mentoring program is currently for Full-Time and International MBA students, but will be expanded over time with the goal of providing a mentor for every School of Business Administration student.

5. Share Your Expertise
Offer career advice to a recent graduate, offer your services as a guest speaker in a classroom or attend a student organization meeting.

6. Get Involved
Volunteer on a School of Business Administration Alumni (SBAA) Committee. Committees include: Alumni-to-Alumni and Alumni-to Student.

7. Participate with a Regional Alumni Chapter in Your Area
If you no longer live in San Diego, get involved with a USD alumni regional chapter in your area. Areas represented currently include Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, and more! Click here for more information.

8. Contribute to your Alma Mater
Whether it's $50 or $500, your financial donation to the SBA can go a long way toward assuring that the school achieves its goals. In turn, you will increase the value of your degree!
