Weekly Update - September 25, 2007

Greetings Fellow Toreros,

I would like to begin by welcoming back all of our returning students to USD and greet the class of 2011. I hope that you are all settling in to your new course schedule and adjusting to life back here at our university. In addition, I would like to thank all of those organizations that dedicated countless hours of their summer to make this upcoming year as enjoyable as possible. Specifically, I would like to thank T-Squad and RAs for all their hard work helping the freshman move in. And just so you know, AS has been planning all summer to make this the best year at USD yet.

Some technical complications prevented me from providing you with my updates before this but that has been resolved and you can now count on hearing from me in a weekly email, providing you with information about what is taking place here on campus. Due to the university's electronic transfer to https://my.sandiego.edu/cp/home/displaylogin however, these emails will only be filling your mailbox for the next three weeks. As of October 15th, my updates will be available under the "Personal Announcement" window on the portal at My San Diego Homepage. This way you can find information important to you if this email happens to get "lost" before you read it.

Please take a moment each week to read my weekly update on this page so that I can provide you with updates on campus activities, available services, and issues that affect you. A list of some of the upcoming events follows, and for more information check out the Associated Students website at http://www.sandiego.edu/associatedstudents/

As for this week, I will start with the update that will most likely impact your life the most: beginning within the next two weeks, all of dining services will be accepting credit cards for their services. This means that if you forgot to refill your student ID card with campus cash, you can still order lunch from any of our dining facilities including the new Burt's Bistro (now open in the new SOLES Building) with your Visa or Mastercard. Just another way that AS is working to make your life convenient as possible.

In addition, I will begin hosting office hours in La Paloma from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. If there is something that you would like to discuss with me; a new idea, a problem, or simply how your day is going, I encourage you to stop by and chat. If you prefer a little more privacy than these casual meetings have to offer, please don't hesitate to stop by my office in UC 225 or call me at extension #4910.

Finally, I want to assure you that I will do everything in my power to make this year the most enjoyable and exciting that USD can make it. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you around campus.
