My name is Mallory Collins and I am thrilled to serve as your Finance Chair for the 2013-2014 academic year! I am a senior, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Spanish, and I have loved being involved in AS throughout the past three years. When I am not on campus, you can find me exploring San Diego, visiting a local farmer’s market each Saturday, or enjoying the sun outdoors!

The Finance Branch of AS is vital to the undergraduate experience, as it funds student activities that build community and foster inclusion on campus. In particular, the Associated Students Budget Committee, ASBC, oversees the sponsoring and subsidizing of Student-University related events through allocations of the student activity fee. Besides ensuring that both the Finance Committee and ASBC are good stewards of this fee, there are a few additional objectives that I hope to achieve this year.

During my term as Finance Chair, I hope to:

Improve consistency of spending policies within AS, TPB and AS-funded Centers through clear spending policies
Raise awareness about the availability of funds for student events and programs through more awareness of ASBC and student interest in the processes of allocation
Instill a sense of financial responsibility and transparency throughout Associated Students

Finance Team

My name is Mark Finan, and I am a senior at the University of San Diego. I am excited to be your Controller for the 2013-2014 academic year. My job entails recording and monitoring the money allocated to and spent by Associated Students operations and affiliate organizations and centers. In addition, it is my fiduciary duty to advise the Finance Chair on behalf of Associated Students. It is my goal to maintain efficient cross-functional communication with my peers in AS, student organizations, and faculty. I hope to improve this communication and I look forward to this opportunity. I welcome the opportunity to work with the innovative students in AS and I look forward to a great year!
